How to organize 81,208,000,000,000,000,000 byte?

According to EMC more than 80 Exabyte (its a number with 18 zeros) of data has been produced between Jannuary 1, 2008 and today (March 12, 8pm GMT+1). See a live counter about data created and replicated worldwide.

The question is how can all this data be organized?

Fundamental organizing principles are:

  • geographic location
  • time

The combination between location and time is very powerful to organize information. And based on the huge amout of data produced there is a lot of work to do to organize some of these data geographically.

We will see when we reach  Yottabytes.
