hello julia here.. i will say thank to Google for such a informative maps…. i like traveling very much…and i was in trouble because i am not well aware from all roads… from this video and pictures of maps i am able to complete my journey in short time…

Hi guys, maybe an easier way to have offline maps: this is a new app in the appstore that lets you see, search for places and streets, and calculate routes WHILE you are offline, and for any part in the world… http://sites.google.com/site/truemaps

Check out Wikimap. It allows users to save open street maps (osm) for offline navigation and browsing. It also permits the viewing and sharing of waypoints, images, and wiki pages with other Wikimap users.

Ok, I’m on a 1 gen. iPhone and OS 3.0 (without GPSchip) and I’ve been searching high and low for a map app that can simply download a streetdatabase and allow offline searching. I’ve checked all the Appstore versions and the Cydia possibilities but can’t find anything that does just that. ANY help will be greatly appreciated.
To the Dev’s: guys, you’ve made some awesome tweaks and apps. Could you help out us users without GPSchips out? (by the way, tried using the GPS tweak to fake the presence of an actual chip, but the nearly $100 costing apps in the Appstore have to much localization services and not this simple feature).

Actually, Google allows you to already download their maps to your iPhone’s memory and cache by using their mobile browser at maps.google.com, and clicking on the download link.
